March 09 The End
} March 06 Remembering Baapu (Jadeja sir)1) Aaliyo and Maalio's saying: Aaliya ni topi maaliya maathe ne maaliyo ughada maathe (meaning, aaliya's hat goes on maaliyo and maaliyo has naked head). All the students accepted that until I told them, "Guys, think! If aaliya's hat goes on maaliyo, then maaliyo has the hat (from aaliyo), so how can maaliyo be without the hat?". Everyone said, "aakash ki baat mein dum hai, yaar!". All accepted. Two days later, in class, bapu again said, "Aaliya ni topi maaliya maathe ne maaliyo ughada maathe". This time, everyone is laughing so (so so) much and looking at me too. Bapu is thinking why are students laughing much more than usual on this usual saying. After two seconds, he stops worrying and says "ha ha ha" (in big slow voice). 2) Student's excuses for not having home-work finished and for being absent in class - "Sir, I woke up on time, I got ready on time and I was left my home. I was on my way, and just near nagar chakla (a place), a black cat cut my way (kaadi bilaadi e maaro rasto kaapyo), so I went back home and slept off." - "Sir, I had done the home-work. I had solved all the sums but when we were standing downstairs before our class, cow ate my notebook!" [actually this is very close to a real story when I saw live cow trying to eat my friend's homework notebook]. - This is a real one, happened in our class only [at 6am in the morning] "I came here on time but just down-stairs, outside our class, my scooter stopped working. So I went to find a mechanic. It was so early so I couldn't find one. Finally I found one and then I repaired it." then he comes at 7 o'clock when class finishes. Baapu said, "Class is over. Now go home and sleep". That guy, so brilliant that he couldn't just come upstairs at 6 and then go and find mechanic at 7am. - An ultimate one: "I was coming to class. I left home but in the way, I saw our milk-man (doodh wado). So I went back home and slept off!!". That guy supposadly thought that it's up-shakoon [bad luck] if you meet a milkman on your way. February 28 Aye dil mujhe bata deA song close to my heart - sung by Geeta Dutt, music: Madan Mohan.
Roots of LoveThere was a young boy in ancient India. His name was 'Aakash'. He had a very lovely mother, father and a sister. When Aakash turned 7, he had to go in a forest far away from home for his education. There used to be "Gurukul(s)" in ancient india where young students went at an early age and they used to finish when they had become mature. These gurukul (schools) used to be in the forests - far from towns/cities and students had to stay there during their educational period. Aakash went to one of these gurukuls. He enjoyed at the starting but then he started feeling little lonely. He wanted to meet his mother. He started thinking - "I wish mother could have breakfast with me", "I wish I could play a sport with the mother", "I wish I could have lunch and dinner together with mother". Sometime after, he met a girl. She asked Aakash to have snacks together, one evening. They both talked about each other and had a great time together. Now he started thinking why is he getting attracted so much by a girl? Why he wants to meet her everyday? Why is he having expectations at all? He thought there was something wrong. The attraction of that sort is probably not a very good thing. He decided to find the origin of this. Today, he found the origin - the roots of this problem. Today he realised that he had forgotten where the love started from. He remembered the mother - the mother with whom he wanted to spend time. The mother who had sent this girl (or who was the girl herself). Today he realised that. All his expectations were now dying and he again started enjoying the ultimate happiness. So it feels like the love starts only from the origniality - when a person is being nice to you, he/she seems to be nearer to the original self. This is lovable and the love starts. Then [most of the times] impurities (like expectations) are mixed into these relationships. If these impurities are carefully avoided, a person will enjoy and keep great relations with others. Hari om tat sat. February 25 NaatakNaatak (gujarati) means a play or a drama. Actors:
Siddhantvaadi Aakash
Jyotishi (astrologer) Dada (grandpa)
Many - so many - sad (dukhi) people - Mitti de baave (puppets made out of mud).
Scene 1: Sitting room (Deevan khand)
Aakash turns on T.V. and Jagjit singh sings:
Aakash is very happy after watching it. He turns off the T.V.
Scene 2: Sitting room
(Aakash's father and dada have travelled to New Zealand from India. Dada is a famous and skilled astrologer - Jyotish. He is sitting in the sitting room. Like how the light from a bulb doesn't ask to be spread, it just does, similarly, people have somehow known his skills and they are standing in a big queue - to know their future, to tell their sorrows. Who else is there to tell sorrows. God is only residing in temple, mosque or church for them.)
Scene 3: Dream
Aakash goes to bed. He gets a dream.
He sees the mother (as in song above), making a boy from mud (mitti da bawa). That boy doesn't talk, doesn't walk and doesn't reply (hung(?k?)ara).
Now there are many of these boys (mitti de bawe?) in the scene.
Aakash, still in his dream, recognises on boy who is singing the following lines:
"Aakash ka soona pan, mere tanha man me. Payal ChanKaTi tum, aa jao jiven mein ....."
The End. 2006 fun memoriesSharing two funniest memories from year 2006:
1) Mosambi
-------------
(Mosambi fruit is also known as sweet lime, it's not lime though)
Today, uncle came to baa (grandma) and said, "Mummy, this is mosambi. Not lime."
Baa: "Oh really! Oh god. In new zealand these limes are so big that it is hard to tell the difference."
Now I realised why dahl was tasting different for last few days!!
2) Questions
--------------
David Nutt is a great lecturer of electrical engineering at AUT. We had EEP (Electrical Engineering Principles) lab today.
One chinese classmate came to Mr Nutt and said, "Can I have some questions, sir?"
Sir replied, "Can you have some questions? [pause]. Yes! Sure.
Question 1: How do you spell China?
Question 2: What is your name?
Question 3: What is E?
......
"
I couldn't stop laughing. February 24 We have been given - thoughtsWe learnt in last poem (well, so called?!
We are responsible for using the things we have been given. We are responsible for whatever we do, whatever decisions we take.
This seems quite hard and after little thinking (of a few years) I have found an easy solution to this issue. This "might" work for you and so I am writing it.
Usually, whenever we come across something, where a decision is required, there are TWO possibilities. Either you take decision 1 OR you take decision 2! One is correct and the other one is NOT.
So it is as easy as selecting the correct one out of two.
Is it really that easy?
(Un?)fortunately not. Because until now, we might not have realised that there are so many decisions to take (which we are not even aware of). Let's look at a recent exmaple from my (lol) life:
I walk to the bus stop everyday to catch a bus to work. When I walk, sometimes there are ants running on the footpath. When I see that there are ants and I am walking on same path wearing shoes (for comfort!), I AM (I AM I AM I AM) responsible if any of the ants are killed by me. Now I have been given mind and so I should (must) find out how can I make sure none of the ants get killed while I walk on the streets. This was a (major) decision I had to take, which many people would not even realised (including me for last 3 years).
|| श्री ब्रह्मार्पणमस्तु || February 18 Honeymoon PeriodI saw two people (Aakash and Sravanthi) having a conversation which relates to blogs on this Live space (Buffer Overflow and Roots of Sadness). Let's have a look:
Sravanthi:
"I saw ur blog on friday. The comment attracted my eyes... Honeymoon period description was ultimate... gud decription!! hehehe
Whats after that period?" Aakash:
"I think after that honeymoon period what comes is not very pleasant. Fights, misunderstandings, lots of expectations; all these things naturally come. All these things should be carefully avoided and if not avoided then there are tears.
But after this period, there is a period which stays for a long time - sustainably and that period is perfectly awesome. when both have understood all good and bad things about each other, and each remembers good things of the other thing and lives happily. I am sure you understand that this relationship refers to just any relationship - mother and daughter, father and son, friend and friend etc etc. not usual relationships which today's youngsters will understand. :)" Sravanthi:
"I think it's true for all other relations except blood relations...
I'll tell u why... The first time when we meet a person it's only their name and designation that we know... So we usually go with those ppl with whom we develop first impression which is positive. and so we respect them, thier thoughts and all..
Then comes what u called as honeymoon period.. bcoz of that good impression, we tend to think that the person is diff from others and we develop infactuation.. its true in case of all ppl... everything seems to go smooth and happy.. in the mean time we start expecting something out of this relationship and then comes misunderstandings and all others follow..."
